Women of Water and Rice
This collection was born from quiet walks through the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, where every curve of the land felt like a breath in motion. Among the rippling fields, I encountered the heart of the place—not just the architecture of water and soil, but the women who live and labor within it.
The women are not anonymous figures; they are the keepers of balance in a centuries-old dance between land, spirit, and community. Inspired by the Subak system and the Tri Hita Karana philosophy that shapes it, these paintings are not just depictions—they are reverence in color.
